Three gigantic blocks, 250 000 sq, m, 27 floors, tennis courts, club rooms and rooftop swimming pools – or as critics from back in the day called them: “pools for the proles!” Social housing took on a completely new quality in Harry Glück’s Alterlaa development. Gleissinger goes back with us to the place where he spent his childhood and to the somewhat eccentric inhabitants of this unique dwelling machine.
