However, because the Germans would kill an equal number of others whenever a group attempted to escape, the captives knew that if ever an escape was tried, all 600 prisoners in the camp would have to be included... logistically precluding any ideas about tunnels or sneak breakouts. Escape from Sobibor is a drama, thriller, and war film. In 1944, near the end of World War II, the Nazi army established three concentration camps for death row prisoners in eastern Poland, one of which was called Sobibor. There was a mass escape from another concentration camp, and the officials overseeing the Sobibor concentration camp vowed never to let such a thing happen in Sobibor concentration camp. In this concentration camp full of torture, escape was the only way out. What's even more serious is that if a group of prisoners escape, the Germans will massacre a corresponding number of prisoners. Any large-scale escape would mean the lives of the guards and German government officials in charge. However, in such an extremely tightly guarded concentration camp, a death row prisoner led 600 people to escape collectively. 300 of them succeeded, which became a miracle in history.
