At the Tao tribe community's elementary school, a newly qualified teacher, Yu Zhongxun, sees the tiny island as a backward and boring place. He desperately wants to get back to his former colorful metropolitan life. Yu saw an opportunity to get a decent performance evaluation by having the students participate in the annual Aboriginal Dance Competition. Only the Sea Knows is a drama, song and dance, family, and children's film. Manawei (played by Zhong Jiajun), who was raised by his grandmother since childhood, hopes that his father, who has been working in Taiwan for a long time, can return to Orchid Island one day to accompany him in his growth.
